Lot Title:
1867 NGC MS-64.
Description:
Indian cents of this era tend to come from dark planchets and tone in a not-always-pleasant manner, but this copper-red specimen is an exception. Both sides features spitfire luster and better than two-thirds of the original mint color. Indeed, the reverse seems awfully close to fully "red", with only a dash of brown patina on the high points. Four diamonds have been well struck up, and the only obvious grade limiting factor appears to be a singular tick on Liberty's cheek. (PCGS# 002089)
