Lot Title:
1862 NGC MS-66 CAC.
Description:
41 graded MS-66, 26 higher. The population report indicates some level of scarcity for 1862 in the upper echelon of mint-state, but besides that, as a Civil War date, collectors often gravitate toward the type coins of this era. Very few have earned CAC approval (one is running around with a gold sticker!) for those who like such things, but this coin stands on its own merits anyway. Both sides display utterly delightful sea-green and sunset-gold toning that playfully shines upon energetic, shimmering luster. A strong die clash only adds to the interest. (PCGS# 004381)
