(About The Images)
1861-O XF, and an 1877-S AU. 1861-O XF, and an 1877-S AU.
Lot Title: 1861-O XF, and an 1877-S AU.
Description: 1861-O offers some battleship-grey patina throughout, though a narrow ring of salmon-gold color glimmers in the peripheral areas of both sides. Appealing album toning appears on both sides of the 1877-S, and the reverse appears to feature a repunched mintmark. Either or both coins present well, but may have been lightly cleaned at some point in this two coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Low Estimate: $400.00
High Estimate: $500.00

1861-O Seated Liberty half-dollar AU-50
A dense, thick original patina seems to obscure much of this coin's mint luster, and so it must be graded by details alone. In that regard, it seems too sharp to be assigned only an "extremely fine"...
