Lot Title:
1883 NGC AU-50.
Description:
Many collectors find the Philadelphia half-dollars of 1879 through 1890 irresistible due to the absurdly low mintages, 1883 showing production of only 8000 pieces. Extremely original pearl-grey patina dominates this example, incorporating elements of darker charcoal within recessed areas. Look for exceptionally strong details, but only minimal luster due to the thickness of that nice patina. (PCGS# 006365)
