Lot Title:
1787 New Jersey (Maris-38-Y, R.3) PCGS F-12 CAC.
Description:
NOVA CAESAREA and the date fit deftly upon the flan despite a strike that is about 5% off to the lower left of the obverse. All of the reverse lettering remains intact as well, although the top of a few letters on the left nearly meet the edge. This New Jersey features excellent visual contrast between tan devices and darker nut-brown fields, with each side showing smooth and very slightly glossy quality. A loupe will be required to find four old, worn scratches clustered about the plow. (PCGS# 000506)
