Lot Title:
Nearly complete set of Peace dollars, mostly high grade.
Description:
1927-S and 1928-S are missing, but all the other Peace dollars for a complete set are included in this Dansco album. The consignor's pursuit of high-grade pieces has resulted in an attractive collection featuring coins with terrific luster and very strong details. The very most common dates should grade BU, but the majority fall into the AU grade range. 1921 features extensive circular toning, and could be UNC, if not for a moderate abrasion on Liberty's neck. Additional highlights include 1924-S (strong AU), 1926 (MS-63), 1928 (MS-63 obverse, but the reverse appears very dull), 1934 (UNC), 1934-D (looks MS-63 but for a small bit of rim damage), 1934-S (AU with album toning, but possibly an old dip), and 1935 (nice UNC).
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
