Lot Title:

Run of proof sets 1950 through 1964 in a Dansco album, virtually complete.
|
Description:
|
From Maxine's Proof Set Collection. Undeniably spectacular quality beams in enticing manner from this fabulous collection of proof coins, housed in a Dansco album. This is the first of two such sets, although this group is virtually complete, lacking only a 1950 dime. Aside from that, every proof issue from 1950 through 1964 gets outstanding representation, with a number of coins showing some very definite cameo inflection. A few coins display a bit of tone, but the silver is mostly white, and each cent seems to be basically fully RED. An additional group of five coins on the last page display the reverse type for proofs through 1963. The consignor has developed this collection slowly, upgrading as time and budget allowed, placing demoted coins into a lower graded Dansco collection. (Elsewhere: the consignor's secondary set of demoted coins.)
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
