Lot Title:
1894 NGC PF-64 CAC.
Description:
Light cameo contrast illuminates both sides of this pale white coin, although there isn't quite enough drama between the frost and the mirrors to garner a designation. No major marks influence the grade, nor are the fields excessively hairlined, but some slidemarks over the cheek undoubtedly determine the grade. The obverse is extremely well defined, while the reverse shows a touch of softness at the right (observed) juncture of the shield to the eagle's wing. (PCGS# 006541)

Persistent inspection is required to locate some light, feathery hairlines traversing broadly across Liberty's portrait, and they show up only when the obverse is rotated 30 degrees counter clockwise.... |
