Lot Title:
1894 MS-60/lightly cleaned.
Description:
Persistent inspection is required to locate some light, feathery hairlines traversing broadly across Liberty's portrait, and they show up only when the obverse is rotated 30 degrees counter clockwise. Otherwise, this Barber half looks much like a blazing "gem", albeit with minor slidemarks on the cheek and chin. All by itself, the reverse grades MS-65. A perfect coin for any high-grade album collection. (PCGS# 006468)
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

JRC Set. The obverse should be a shoe-in for the "cameo" designation, as it displays a white-frosted portrait skimming over pleasant mirrors. Less contrast appears on the reverse, though certainly,... |

Light cameo contrast illuminates both sides of this pale white coin, although there isn't quite enough drama between the frost and the mirrors to garner a designation. No major marks influence the... |
