Lot Title:
1899 PCGS MS-67.
Description:
An utterly charming coin, this 1899 quarter-eagle offers every possible incentive for the MS-67 grade assigned by PCGS. "Strike" is the point from which all other attributes of condition emanate, and in this case, the sharpness looks outstanding. No noticeable weakness affects either side, and even a tiny curving strike-through poking out of the top of Liberty's head is strangely well defined. Exquisite die-polish lines peek through the eagle's shield. Superb satin luster revolves energetically about the primary devices and filters beautifully through peripheral elements, and the superb eye-appeal that accompanies medium-gold color with salmon accents cannot be missed. At last check, PCGS has never certified a finer 1899 quarter-eagle. (PCGS# 007851)
