Lot Title:
1899 NGC MS-66.
Description:
With just 27,200 minted, the 1899 quarter-eagle is a surprisingly scarce coin, and it goes without saying that in a grade of MS-66, it becomes downright rare. This example exhibits stunning detail that "pops" right up from the lovely, original surfaces, and the fields are unblemished by any dings or unsightly stains. Tasteful pale green iridescence visits each side, but is lavished mostly in the lower right quadrant of the obverse, lending a magnificent three-dimensional effect that should delight any collector. Truly a jewel by any standard! From the Windchime Type Gold Collection.

A pair of quarter-eagles, consisting of an 1899 graded MS-62 by PCGS, and a 1905 graded MS-61 by ANACS. The former coin seems to have legitimate claims for upgrade, while the latter coin is probably... |

Luster is dripping off both the obverse and reverse of this superbly struck quarter eagle. The obverse has a small bit of rose toning at 1:00, and the obverse has a small toning fleck at the "A" in... |
