Lot Title:
Four Seated Liberty dimes.
Description:
The obverse of the 1838 "small stars" is bisected by a familiar, bold die crack that makes the die-state popular with collectors. This coin has minor hairlines seemingly from an old wipe, but has developed mild iridescence and offers AU details. 1840 "drapery" is a little glossy and a scratch in the obverse right field may be distracting to some viewers, though the VF details are bold. Rounding out the group, 1840-O "no drapery" seems a little microporous but has acquired a little rim toning, and an 1852 dime seems to be a normal "fine". All three of the earlier issues are much tougher in this four coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
