Lot Title:
1849-D PCGS XF-45.
Description:
This Open Wreath Reverse design is a first year of issue specimen from this popular southern mint for this denomination. Only 21,588 were struck, and they are typically found in a lower circulated state. Characteristic soft detailing is observed in the central portion of Liberty's hair. The coppery gold aspect gives it a handsome antique semblance. With its scant number of surface marks, this makes for a desirable Dahlonega Mint representation.
