Lot Title:
1906 PCGS MS-64.
Description:
At arm's length, both sides display platinum-grey patina that fairly dances with undulating luster, and there are no obvious disturbances. Examination of the surfaces with a loupe is required to locate a bountiful supply of tiny dark dots peppered over the entire coin, and these seem to be what diminishes the brilliance by about two shades of grey. Fortunately, that luster is positively indomitable, and along with a powerful strike, helps to fuel the very nice eye-appeal. (PCGS# 006504)

The 1906 grades AU-55 and is perhaps beginning to show just a hint of PVC haze across portions of the luster. It is followed by a 1910 that grades XF-45, but has perhaps been dipped, as it is a bit... |

A superb Proof issue from the 675 produced. Its deeply mirrored surfaces counterbalance its frosty white motifs. Some minute specks and traces of slight surface haziness are noted beneath its... |
