(About The Images)
1818/7 O-101a, R-1 AU-58. 1818/7 O-101a, R-1 AU-58.
Lot Title: 1818/7 O-101a, R-1 AU-58.
Description: This particular overdate is perceptible to the naked eye with the top of the "7" clearly above the second "8" of the date. Exquisitely covered in enticing blue and crimson tones that surround the central design elements and enhance its mostly lustrous surfaces. There are no blemishes or marks to single out on this eminent strike. Visually, it is a treat to behold.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

811The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/26/2013$370.00
1818/7 (O-101) XF.
Apple Peel Collection. Removed from an ANACS XF-45 holder which also showed the 1818/7 O-101 attribution. In terms of details, then grade seems closer to the VF-35 to XF-40 range, but the ANACS...
691The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$625.00
1818/7 large 8 (O-103, R.3) PCGS XF-45 CAC.
1818/7 is such a popular overdate in the series that many higher grade examples have been targeted for "improvement", and finding a nice piece with original surfaces is next to impossible. Luckily,...
541The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$550.00
1818/7 (O-101a, R.1) ANACS AU-50.
As an overdate representative, O-101 probably has a slight edge over O-102, since the top of the underdigit "7" is a touch more prominent. A boldly detailed example of the overdate.
729The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$725.00
1818/7 (O-103, R.3) XF.
CONSIGNOR: This one always reminds me of my 1815 for some reason, maybe because they're both overdates, but they have similar looks. Lots of tone, the back is the nicer side, though. CATALOGER: An...
577The Midwest Summer Sale 2007 on 07/27/2007$300.00
1818/7 O-102, XF-45.
Considerable luster displays readily on both sides of this unusually appearing overdate half. Unlike the typically colorful "bustie", this coin features interaction between vanilla and bronze hues on...
554The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$1,300.00
1818/7 O-101a, R-1. AU-58.
This variety has the first "8" of the date large, the first application of this large "8" punch since 1815. Clearly detectable to the unaided eye, this particular overdate shows the crossbar of the...
1403The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$200.00
1818/7 O-102a, R-2. XF-40.
Sharply struck for the grade, this piece's appealing light gray surfaces display some insignificant hairlines, but they are devoid of any detracting marks or obtrusive blemishes.
1405The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$1,350.00
1818/7 O-102a, R-2. MS-60.
Subtle blushes of pale blue and complementary russet hues on original, frosty, and silvery white surfaces produce an exceptional aesthetic aspect. Exclusive of some insignificant hairlines observed...
