Lot Title:
1878-CC PCGS XF-45.
Description:
Luster is somewhat understated at first glance for XF-45, but the surfaces offer pleasing lead-grey patina that seems original. More important to collectors of the series in circulated grade, the details are evenly brought up and present well for the most part, with mild wear indicated only by a few slightly flattened high points. What will appear to be a moderate hit just above the knee is actually an interesting strike-through that has no impact on technical grade. 1878-CC is rather common well circulated, but becomes THE key in XF and higher grades.
