Lot Title:
1810 10 over 9. NGC AU-53 BN.
Description:
Probably die-state III, with clash marks within the wreath. The overdate feature is sharp as usual, and S-281 is popular even with collectors who don't specialize in early copper, but simply enjoy overdates. Quality of the surface on the reverse is a touch nicer than that of the obverse, which itself offers frosty iron-grey highlights over walnut-brown fields. Free from the corrosion that frequently plagues the Classic Head series. (PCGS# 001552)

The reverse is the nicer side, with good color and just minor, even roughness in the fields. Obverse fields are a little more influenced by environmental effects, and some noisy abrasions can be seen... |

All Large Cents should look this good. The rim has a few marks on the reverse, but the obverse rim is free of any distracting marks. The color is brown with a few mottled area's around a couple of... |

This is a very nice example of a very tough variety. The overdate is strong and clear with the second one surrounded by the remnants of a zero. The planchet quality on this coin exceeds nice and... |
