Lot Title:
Collection of Walking Liberty half-dollars, 1916 through 1940, in a Whitman 9423 album.
Description:
Minor cleaning affects a few coins, such as 1916-S, 1918 and 1933-S, but most of these are nice, original coins. All, including early pieces, seem to be strongly rimmed Good or better examples, with many early coins even reaching up to at least VG or so. The best coins include: 1916 (VF), 1916-S (VF-35/cleaned), 1921 (VG-10 and a fantastic, strictly original dove-grey coin), 1921-D (VF-30, original, and far and away, the most important coin present), 1921-S (VG), and 1938-D (XF). A few late date coins are spotty UNCs. (PCGS# )
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
