Lot Title:
1914 Matte Proof. PCGS PF-64BN.
Description:
One cannot help but be mesmerized by the amazing sharpness always present for the matte proof Lincoln cents. As usual, this 1914 example is pinpoint sharp, with fully squared inner rims and lettering and design elements that elevated right up from the fields. The obverse offers about 20% of the original glowing mint red, the balance enveloped by deep brown toning, while the reverse displays heavy umber-brown patina. The only apparent distraction is a short scratch at the reverse upper-left, but unfortunately, scuffing of the slab prevents full appreciation of all that such an esteemed coin has to offer.
