Lot Title:
Sixteen consecutive large-cents dated 1842 through 1857.
Description:
To a coin, these all offer strong details, and most display nice color as well, with few caveats noted. Grade estimates are given for each date as follows: 1842 (VF+), 1843 (AU/recolored), 1844 (VF+), 1845 (ex-Jules Reiver NGC AU), 1846 (Fine+), 1847 (VF+), 1848 (AU), 1849 (VF/some microporosity), 1850 (XF), 1851 (XF and lovely caramel brown), 1852 (VF and gorgeous, original olive-tan), 1853 (XF), 1854 (XF+), 1855 (XF/recolored), 1856 (XF), and 1857 (XF+). Sixteen coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
