(About The Images)
1909-O AU-58. 1909-O AU-58.
Lot Title: 1909-O AU-58.
Description: This is a very difficult coin in any grade, and it is downright rare in this state of preservation. Well struck and with good color, it is just a touch of rub away from being worth more than a starter home. A couple of scuffs are present to the left of the Eagle on the reverse, while the obverse has just a light cheek scuff invisible to the middle-age naked eye. I can hear your set begging for the inclusion of this key date coin, struck in the final year of production at the fabled New Orleans Mint.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1909-O PCGS Genuine, AU details/cleaned.
Examination of both sides reveals the glossy texture that caused PCGS to indicate "cleaning", but the 1909-O date confers key-date status upon this AU representative. Modest wear shows within the...
1126The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$10,250.00
1909-O PCGS AU-55.
1909-O is one of the two keys to the gold Indian half-eagle series, with lightly circulated examples expensive, and mint-state coins through the roof in terms of value. (In fact, it is THE key at...
1031The Collectors' Auction 2008 on 10/17/2008$8,500.00
1909-O PCGS Genuine.
Behind the very rare 1929, 1909-O is the second key to the Indian gold half-eagle series. (Really, they are the only two keys.) PCGS has elected to encapsulate this example, indicating only that it...
1000The Midwest Winter Sale 2007 on 02/09/2007$4,100.00
1909-O AU-58 Detail Cleaned.
This date is the key to the entire $5.00 Indian series. This example has AU-58 details and minimal marks. Its color is slightly off due to the fact that it has been lightly cleaned. This coin still...
491The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$10,000.00
1909-O NGC AU-55.
The New Orleans mintmark has a prominent delineation on this sought-after key date -- frequently it appears weakly punched. The handsome, yellow-gold surfaces display no obtrusive marks or blemishes...
