Lot Title:
Two 1936 Proofs.
Description:
The obverse of the better looking coin is reasonably free from hairlines and defects, but has an erratic scratch in the obverse right field, as well as curious salmon-gold coloration. Additional hairlines at the bottom of the reverse appear to represent a past attempt to gloss over slight surface corrosion. A couple of black corrosion spots affect the second coin, and with pebbly texture that reaches up and over the rims, it almost appears as if the coin has been sandblasted. At any rate, both are of the "satin proof" type, rather than the "brilliant" type in this two coin lot. (PCGS# 003333)
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

This Lincoln Cent has rich color with nary a spot. The devices on the reverse show a bit of cameo look. The only negative is that the holder has some scratches. A little dab of Brasso should clean... |
