Lot Title:
1800 NGC AU-55.
Description:
It is not very often you see a piece of early holdered gold and think it might be undergraded, but this could be an AU-58. The strike, color, and luster are all way above average. The tiny wisp of hair in front of the ear is fully visible, as are each and every feather in the Eagle's wings. The stars show nice crowns and valleys, and star seven is repunched. Struck from a die in midlife, a few light die cracks connect most of the letters of Liberty. With outstanding eye appeal and the romance of early America, this coin must be seen.
