Lot Title:

1799 (S-189) ANACS AG-3 details/corroded/edge damaged.
Description:
Really, sharpness is not far from the G-4 level, since the date is reasonably strong, LIBERTY is actually visible (though ghostly weak), and the reverse legends are also essentially visible, though again, they are extremely faint. The brown color is also appealing, but positive attributes may end there. Medium porosity covers the entire surface yet avoids major pitting, and there is rim damage along the right edge of both sides, probably of contemporary origin. Nonetheless, despite the caveats, an authentic 1799 cent is desirable in about any grade, and this one should have no shortage of suitors. (PCGS# 001443)
