Lot Title:
1855-S PCGS XF-45.
Description:
Given that the grade is in the XF range, there is a surprisingly nice amount of luster still tracing an outline around protected areas of the design elements, though the wide open fields have definitely seen their mint-state texture lost to the effects of circulation. For that matter Liberty's portrait depicts noticeable flatness in the hair, although the important features remain bold. Hairlines scarcely affect either side, except for a single very thin scratch ominously pointed at Liberty's throat. (PCGS# 007973)
