Complete collection of regular issue Lincoln cents 1909 through 2006-D in a Dansco 7100 album. Complete collection of regular issue Lincoln cents 1909 through 2006-D in a Dansco 7100 album.
Lot Title: Complete collection of regular issue Lincoln cents 1909 through 2006-D in a Dansco 7100 album.
Description: More than one set of Lincoln cents in today's sale are of well above average quality, this being such a set. Strangely, the very first coin (1909) is cleaned and artificially toned, but that is completely incongruous with the rest of the early dates, which are represented almost exclusively by superior cents. From 1909-VDB through 1933-D, surfaces generally display nice, even brown color and terrific detail, with most coins upgraded to at least VF, and that includes some very difficult mintmarked issues. 1909-S is very close to XF, 1909-S VDB is borderline Fine, and 1914-D is about VF. 1915-D appears to be a slider AU/UNC with some red, and 1914 and 1919 are both nice, brown UNCs. 1922 "plain" is actually a "weak mintmark" die pair with a weak reverse, and it grades VG or so. Quality suddenly dives from 1934 through the end of the wheat cent series, with quite a number of coins dipped or cleaned, except for the steel cents, which are nice. The Memorial cents are average red and red-brown UNCs, with both 1970-S varieties, all the 1982s (unverified), and other slots filled through 2006-D.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
