Lot Title:
1936-D Columbia. PCGS MS-67 (rattler).
Description:
With 153 graded MS-67 by PCGS and 17 higher, the Columbia is not necessarily rare, not even in such high grade. But the luster seen here could compete with that of any challenger, as riveting cartwheel effect shimmers through the wide, flat fields surrounding the central design motifs. Pewter-grey patina dominates the color scheme, sprinkled with cinnamon-gold at the obverse rims, and the center of the reverse is even more broadly toned. As expected, the strike is sharp as can be. (PCGS# 009292)

1936-D Columbia. NGC MS-66.
Pleasing golden patina covers both sides of this well-struck and problem-free half dollar. It is in a super old NGC holder, so you know its conservatively graded. |
