Lot Title:
1895 PCGS PF-55.
Description:
This piece is one of just 880 Proof issues struck. No business strikes exist, although a submission in a mint report alludes to 12,000 being produced. Perhaps out of these 880 specimens, only 600 to 700 survive. An appealing antique silver aspect copiously graces its surfaces. Impressively struck, but with just a slight amount of wear denoted on the hair above Liberty's ear and on the Eagle's breast feathers. The key date for the entire Morgan Dollar series and worthy of the nom de plume, "King of the Morgan Dollars."
