1873 "closed 3" NGC PF-64.

Description:
|
Speckles of burnt orange toning gravitate to the peripheral areas and bunch up into thicker accents of royal-blue and tobacco-gold color. Cameo contrast is obvious on the obverse, less evident on the reverse, and overall attractively presented. 1873 as a proof-only issue closed out the three-cent silver series, but is only known with a "closed 3" date, so it is unclear why NGC chose to attribute that logotype on the slab insert. (PCGS# 003724)
