Three 1912-D Liberty nickels and six 1921-S Buffalo nickels. Three 1912-D Liberty nickels and six 1921-S Buffalo nickels.
Lot Title: Three 1912-D Liberty nickels and six 1921-S Buffalo nickels.
Description: The three 1912-D Liberty nickels progress in detail from fine, to fine+, to very-fine. Though each one displays the slightest level of surface corrosion, it is probably not sufficient to warrant concern. Six 1921-S Buffalo nickels fall within a grade range of VG to fine, but one has a strong, peeling lamination, and all have the usual weak reverse, with incomplete horn detail on the bison. Nine coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Low Estimate: $250.00
High Estimate: $350.00

Album (1883 - 1912-S) of Liberty nickels
No 1885 is in this set, and the 1886 is a gently marred G-4. However, the 1912-S presents seven strong letters in LIBERTY and grades fully F-12.

Album (1913 - 1938) of Buffalo nickels

Album (1913 - 1938) of Buffalo nickels
A few coins are missing from this album, namely the 1913-D T2, 1913-S T2, 1914-D, 1915-S, 1918/7-D (a 1938-D sits in it's place), and 1921-S. Significantly, though, the 1937 "three legged buffalo" is...

Album (1913 - 1938-D) of Buffalo nickels
Missing the overdate and three-legged coin, as well as the 1913-S T2. However, there are several original earlier dates in better circulated grades. The 1924-S and 1926-S are both nice F-12 coins.

Album (1938 - 2002-S) of Jefferson nickels

1950 - 1964 proof Jefferson nickels
Amazing group of proof Jefferson nickels, dated 1950 - 1964. None of the coins should qualify for a "cameo" designation, with the remarkable exception of the 1950, which appears to have much contrast...
