Lot Title:
1925-S NGC MS-63 RB.
Description:
Miserable state of the dies is what induced such mushy details, especially on the obverse, but despite the lack of definition, the luster and glowing magenta-orange color make it obvious that this is an uncirculated coin. It goes without saying that sharpness isn't near ideal, but that is par for the course for San Francisco cents of the 1920s! The reverse features a "dropped wheat", with a nice die break on the left side producing raised metal within the wheat lines. Here again, such condition of the dies shows the extent to which San Francisco used production runs that truly used up the dies until the absolute end of their usefulness. (PCGS# 002565)

Now this is an interesting Wheat Cent. Shimmers of magenta, green, and violet give the obverse and reverse of this well struck Small Cent a special look. |
