Lot Title:
1836 LM-3, V-4, R-1 MS-63.
Description:
This "3 over Inverted 3" variety has a silver frostiness that copiously bedecks its surfaces and are further enhanced by nuances of russet-brown. The obverse exhibits a die break from the rim at 12:30, through Liberty's cap, to her lowest hair curl. Prominently struck with no detractions.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Although the consignor failed in a couple of attempts to upgrade this half dime, it actually is quite choice for the assigned grade and could well be fully MS-63. Gold and rose tones are involved... |
