Lot Title:
1806 Small 6 - Stems (C-2, R.4). ANACS F-12.
Description:
Small, low "6" with stems on the reverse for C-2, which Breen correctly predicted as falling to R.4, and die-state IV, with the connecting crack very faint. Inhibiting appreciation of the die-state is extensive medium corrosion on both sides that has been professionally removed and recolored. Clearly, the ANACS commercial F-12 grade was a "silent net" down from VF. Thus, any minor marks or abrasions are likely camouflaged by the rough surface texture. One curious benefit of corrosive effects -- ocean air treats details and defects alike!
