Lot Title:
1807 (C-1, R.1) ANACS AU-58.
Description:
The only die marriage, and an undetermined (later) die-state characterized by substantial orange peel effect in the fields. Graded AU-58 by ANACS, this is probably actually better preserved than a competing PCGS AU-58 in the sale, but weaker in sharpness as the result of the later, more worn dies. Surfaces are extraordinarily free from any notable marks or defects whatsoever! And luster flow actually benefits from the textured dies, providing extremely frosty flowline effect on both obverse and reveres. Housed in a small ANACS holder - they sure don't grade 'em like they used to.
