(About The Images)
1919-S MS-64FH, cleaned. 1919-S MS-64FH, cleaned.
Lot Title: 1919-S MS-64FH, cleaned.
Description: It is certainly most unfortunate that someone decided to clean this 1919-S quarter, since the details are razor sharp, including a full head and very nearly full shield details as well. Indeed, all the rivets are present, and only the inner shield is a tad soft. Luster has been somewhat curtailed by the cleaning and revolves around the cartwheel axis rather weakly. That being said, on another positive note, besides a very sharp strike, preservation benefits the coin in that there are essentially no marks of consequence, and of course, the brightened surface ensures there are no distracting stains. MS-60/cleaned.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

657The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$475.00
1919-S NGC AU details/whizzed and 1924-S AU details/improperly...
NGC disclaimer notwithstanding, the 1919-S does not appear to be whizzed at all at first glance, though the luster is quite dull for a coin at the AU level. Only careful examination finds the false...
419The Collectors' Auction 2010 on 10/15/2010$370.00
1919-S PCGS XF-40.
Dominated by iron-grey patina, though many darker speckles crowd into the fields. The downfall of the 1919-S quarter and others of like vintage was the elevated date that tended to wear quickly, and...
343The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$4,400.00
1919-S MS-63 FH.
It sometimes seems as if "all the nice coins" are in slabs these days, but at hand is an outstanding exception to the rule. This 1919-S quarter grades MS-63 FH, and actually has claims on an even...
1073The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$425.00
1919-S AU-53+.
This is a bright white quarter that is on the nicer side of AU. It will fit perfectly into your type set or higher grade Standing Liberty Quarter set.
1300The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$500.00
1919-S AU-55.
An elusive issue with vibrant satiny surfaces that are embellished with a delicate gold tinge. A meager number of ticks to indicate for this prominently struck specimen, save for typically soft head...
1301The Midwest Summer Sale 2006 on 07/21/2006$475.00
1919-S AU-58.
Eighty percent of dealers and collectors would probably call this coin Uncirculated, but we error on the conservative side when it comes to raw coins. It certainly looks Unc, but the luster might...
550The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/17/2006$425.00
1919-S XF-45.
An appealing example of this eminent key date. Sharply struck and displaying a prominent date and mint mark. The surfaces offer a delicate silver aspect augmented with a golden tinge.
