This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

213The Collectors' Auction 2012 on 10/05/2012$1,850.00
1853 (C-1) NGC MS-65 RB CAC.
By no measure would the 1853 half-cent be considered a recognizable key in the series, with examples abundant in any grade, including mint-state. Indeed, at most lower circulated grades, the issue ...
211The Midwest Summer Sale 2012 on 07/27/2012$475.00
1853 (C-1) NGC MS-64+ BN CAC.
Really well struck, the stars actually show good details even at their centers, but they are technically not quite 100% fully brought up. Central motifs are very well defined. This coin exhibits...
264The Midwest Summer Sale 2010 on 07/23/2010$310.00
1853(C-1, R.1) PCGS MS-62BN.
While circulated coins with rub sometimes get into MS-62 slabs, others like this are sharply struck and given very decent luster, yet are relegated to the same grade. Go figure! Granted it is a...
110The Midwest Winter Sale on 02/12/2010$330.00
1853 MS-60, 1856 AU/altered surfaces, and 1857 AU.
A small group of late-date half-cents, listed as follows: 1853 (C-1) AU/minor rim damage/reverse cleaned, 1856 AU/polished/reverse corroded, and 1857 (C-1) XF/reverse cleaned/reverse verdigris. Three...
201The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$130.00
1853 C-1 AU-55.
This is a well-struck specimen with mottled color and just a couple of light spots. The rims and surfaces are free of dings or abrasions.
202The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$475.00
1853 MS-64.
Wow, what a nice coin. That will be your first thought upon viewing this half vent. The color is a perfect glossy brown with red highlights. The piece is virtually mark free, and the strike is very...
223The Collector's Auction on 10/20/2006$360.00
1853 C-1 NGC MS-64 BN.
Rich Mahogany is the color of this extraordinary Half Cent. There are very few marks detectable. This piece would make a fine addition to a high grade type set.
