1849 is fairly available within the quarter-eagle series, yet garners some premium over the most common issues in AU grades and better. Plenty of luster surrounds the devices for this example, with the color consistently yellow-gold overall and uninterrupted by any toning or copper spots at all. This was probably a pretty well detailed example when struck, since the stars are sharp, and only the central curl and the eagle's neck lack a little detail, with some attrition brought about by light wear.
