Lot Title:
1920-S NGC MS-63.
Description:
A prominent strike came close to imparting full head detail since the ear hole and three sprigs are present, but there is no clear delineation at the edge of the cap. NGC's MS-63 grade apparently represents compromise over a couple of considerations, including the above-average strike, but also luster that is a little impeded by moderate lead-grey patina. 1920-S is known for the best die cracks in the series, and this example displays a fine crack connecting the top of all four digits in the date, as well as at least three radial cracks on the reverse -- precursor to a nice shattered die.

Blazing luster can be observed on both the obverse and reverse of this super nice coin. There are a few marks on the reverse, but they are commensurate for the grade and not distracting. This would... |
