Lot Title:
|
1905-S MS-60 details/cleaned.
|
Description:
|
A semblance of prooflike character seems to derive from production, and excessive cleaning of the surfaces may have been intended to augment such pleasing affectations. The coin is too white overall and needs to rest in a proper environment. Strike quality is simply outstanding at the edges, but the parallel striations on Liberty's cheek are as-struck. MS-60/cleaned.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1905-S shows plenty of luster but also some curiously unobtrusive small scratches across Liberty's portrait. 1912-D shows strong sharpness, but perhaps a light PVC film over both sides. Two coin... |

1905-S ANACS MS-62.

Splashes of crimson hues overlaying the delicate lustrous surfaces complement this excellently struck piece. A few minute marks, but none are obtrusive to the eye. |
