(About The Images)
1926-S MS-63 BN/questionable color/damaged. 1926-S MS-63 BN/questionable color/damaged.
Lot Title: 1926-S MS-63 BN/questionable color/damaged.
Description: In mint-state grades, 1926-S has acquired rightful reputation as one of the semi-keys to the Lincoln series. Plenty of luster accompanies this fully brown example, and persistent inspection will find the tiniest fragments of mint red here and there. Sadly, about a dozen sharp scrapes affect Lincoln's upper portrait, and there are several tiny digs beneath "LIBERTY", these aggregate problems prompting the "damaged" disclaimer in the grade.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Much like the buffalo nickel of the same date, 1926-S is notorious within the Lincoln cent series for poor production, and few coins display much evidence of original red color. Most existing...

This Wheat Cent is more Red than Brown. It is nicely struck and problem free. This little beauty is well deserving of the grade.
