Lot Title:
1841 NGC AU-55.
Description:
This is practically a mint-state coin, as verified by the AU-55 grade, but each side is heavily abraded, and even if it were technically uncirculated, the value would be netted down for this fact. Besides, the obverse is exceedingly bright, though the reverse is curiously a full shade darker. Also notable on the reverse is flashy reflectivity within protected areas of the field. 63 thousand pieces were struck, and surprisingly, NGC has graded only 28 higher than the present AU-55.
