Lot Title:
Complete set of Barber half-dollars in a Dansco 7150 album.
Description:
Except for a very few coins that reach into VG range, this is an album of AG to Good Barber half-dollars, most of them original. Those that are cleaned are not egregiously so, but can be quickly listed as 1894, 1897, 1897-O, 1902-O, 1908-S, and 1915. The keys are quickly noted as follows: 1892-O (G/minor obverse scratches), 1892-S (AG), 1893-S (G, but just barely), 1897-O (G/spots/cleaned), 1897-S (AG), 1913 (G/dark), 1914 (G), and 1915 (F/cleaned). This last coin, a key, is curiously the highest grade for details, but suffers the mild cleaning mentioned prior. A highly respectable set!
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
