Lot Title:
Twenty-three large cents.
Description:
Most outstanding about this lot is the extreme original surface quality of each coin. Not a single piece has been cleaned or molested in anyway, and all of these cents retain every crumb of original "dirt" on them, something that seems all too rare in today's coin environment. Of course, this means that any surface verdigris or problems remain as well, but such is the small cost of truly vintage coins. Only 1851 is repeated as a date in this grouping, which is comprised of: 1794 (Fair), 1795 (AG/corroded), 1797 (AG), 1802 1/000 S-228 (VG/corroded reverse), 1803 sm. dt, sm fr (G), 1807/6 lg 7 (G), 1814 cross 4 (G), 1818 (F), 1819 sm dt (VF/corroded), 1820 sm dt (F), 1827 (G), 1837 plain, sm lt (F), 1842 lg dt (VF), 1843 lg head, lg lt (VF), 1845 (VF), 1847 (XF), 1849 (AU), 1851 (XF), 1851 (VF), 1852 (XF), 1853 (XF), 1855 slanted date (XF), and 1856 normal date (XF). Twenty-three coin lot from the Tabasco Sauce collection.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
