Lot Title:

Complete set of circulated Mercury Dimes (including popular varieties) in a Dansco 7123 album.
|
Description:
|
Here is undoubtedly one of the groovier Mercury dime collection to enter the halls of Scotsman Auction Company in recent years. Neatly taped on the front cover is the extraordinarily succinct description: CIRC. That is indeed an apt pronouncement of what is to found inside, but of subtle significance is the fact that the consignor actually took the time to match up all the coins as well as possible, and that included downgrading latter date coins to match the grade of earlier piece. 1916-D grades G-4, but no other coin grades below VG-10 or so. In addition, some nicer varieties are included in remaining open slots, including: 1917-D (XF, strike doubling), 1941-S "large mm", 1942/1 (XF/dipped), 1942/1-D (F), 1942-S (F, strike doubled date), and 1945-S "micro S" (VF).
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.
