Lot Title:
1894-S and 1895-S XF/AU details/cleaned.
Description:
1894 displays XF details, but each side is a little dull from an old cleaning, possibly performed in an effort to hide minor tiny pitting on Liberty's cheek. 1895-S has stronger details at the AU level, but a more prominent cleaning has removed most of the obverse luster. Two coin lot.
This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

Some mint luster dimly illuminates each side of the 1894-S, which is in an ANACS AU-50 holder. The 1896-S has identical detail, but has been cleaned, so that we would grade it XF-40 overall. Two... |
