(About The Images)
1836 Script 8. NGC AU-55. 1836 Script 8. NGC AU-55.
Lot Title: 1836 Script 8. NGC AU-55.
Description: Lemon-gold fields exude some luster between the stars, but the surfaces are noticeably less original than would be ideal, since they are lighter in color than one would expect of gold nearing 175 years of age. This appears to be the "head of 1835", characterized by obverse die cracks at 11:00 and 4:00.
Low Estimate: $1,000.00
High Estimate: $1,150.00
Lot Status: Bidding has been closed for this lot.

1836 Script 8 NGC AU details/improperly cleaned.

1002The Midwest Summer Sale 2011 on 07/29/2011$220.00
1836 Block 8. ANACS XF details/cleaned/net VF-20.
Obviously glossy and too bright to be original, with finer details slightly smoothed by an aggressive cleaning. Still, the reverse has managed to retain some degree of original toast-gold color at...
855The Midwest Winter Sale 2009 on 02/13/2009$475.00
1836 Script 8/Head of 1835. XF/damage/cleaned.
A slightly glossy finish has been imparted by a mild cleaning, but fortunately, some original reflectivity can still be seen in the protected areas around the stars. Of note are four smallish digs on...
