Lot Title:
1889-S PCGS MS-63.
Description:
Population reports from either service show that no 1889-S survives in "gem" condition, with thirteen MS-64s representing the finest known. Thus, acquisition of a nice MS-63 obviously provides a money-saving alternative when it isn't necessary to have the very best possible for a set. This example provides a fair representation of the MS-63 grade, with fine details and pleasing luster affected by only minor abrasions and a small discolored area on Liberty's cheek. A thin obverse die crack arcs over Liberty's head.
