(About The Images)
1894 NGC PF-67. 1894 NGC PF-67.
Lot Title: 1894 NGC PF-67.
Description: If a proof Barber dime could be struck on a planchet made of pure water, it just might look like this stunning jewel. This is an outright untoned, unhazed and unimaginably bright silver coin, utterly white in appearance and devoid of even a smidgeon of color! Silver proof coins of the 1890s are famous for high quality and this one does not disappoint. The strike is almost impossibly sharp, and though not given a "cameo" designation, it is difficult to imagine how NGC could have failed to do so, given the extent of contrast exhibited by the finely textured devices floating atop animated liquid fields. For the collector who needs just a single proof coin of this type, look no further than this astounding superb gem, since fewer than ten proof 1894 dimes have ever graded higher.

1894 PCGS PF-64 CAC.
Brock Megran Collection. PCGS adroitly notes the very choice PF-64 grade, but chose not to designate noticeable cameo frost on the major design elements. Both the portrait and wreath are so-frosted,...
423The Collectors' Auction - 2014 on 10/17/2014$2,700.00
1894 PCGS PF-67.
Absolutely without question, this is a staggering mind-boggling superb gem proof that must be seen to be believed. While not designated as a cameo, the contrast can't possibly be missed (hint hint,...
268The Collectors' Auction 2009 on 10/16/2009$825.00
1894 NGC MS-65.
Pristine, brilliant-white obverse quality is a little better than average for the grade, while the reverse has a carbon spot and planchet defect placing that side just a touch below average for the...
600The Midwest Summer Sale on 07/24/2009$1,800.00
1894 NGC PF-66 Cameo.
Incredibly pristine in terms of surface quality, this coin features a dead-on cameo appearance that could not possibly be missed, and the toning pattern features delightful russet-lilac coloration...
430The Collectors' Auction 2007 on 10/19/2007$190.00
1894 ANACS AU-53.
This is a very brilliant and lustrous coin for the AU-53 grade level. There are a reasonable number of tiny tics to attest to time spent circulating from pocket to pocket. 1894 is a better date in...
