(About The Images)
1865 PCGS AU-58. 1865 PCGS AU-58.
Lot Title: 1865 PCGS AU-58.
Description: Dies clashed frequently for gold dollars, and after just so much knocking around, die damage would be an inevitable result. An unusual surface anomaly at the top of Liberty's headdress suggests a sunken obverse die, resulting in what almost appears to be a bent planchet, although examination of the other side of the planchet confirms that this is not the case. Thus, it is likely that this was the terminal stage for this particular reverse. In addition, a prominent strikethrough may be seen at 12:00 of the obverse.
Low Estimate: $575.00
High Estimate: $650.00
