(About The Images)
1795 (S-76b) Liberty Cap large-cent Good and 1795 (C-6a no pole) Liberty Cap half-cent Good. 1795 (S-76b) Liberty Cap large-cent Good and 1795 (C-6a no pole) Liberty Cap half-cent Good.
Lot Title: 1795 (S-76b) Liberty Cap large-cent Good and 1795 (C-6a no pole) Liberty Cap half-cent Good.
Description: Difficult to find in an auction venue is this pair of 1795 copper coins that offer budgetary appeal, as well as pleasing surface quality for the grade. The 1795 C-6a "no pole" half-cent offers supremely original and smooth surfaces that are steadfastly unaffected by corrosion or any other surfaces issues that frequently plague early half-cents. Liberty's portrait is fully outlined, and LIBERTY itself is easily readable. Amazingly, despite heavy wear, a smidgeon of every one of the four digits in the date may be seen under ideal viewing circumstances. The numeric denomination on the reverse is bold, but HALF CENT is very faint and just barely readable. The 1795 S-76b large-cent is more boldly defined and displays a strong portrait, date and motto on the obverse, as well as perceptible rim definition, while the reverse shows only a little detail. ONE CENT can be partially discerned, as can a few leaves in the wreath, but the rims are essentially gone, and peripheral lettering only sporadically visible. Two coin lot.

This lot may contain an item not certified by ANACS, PCGS, or NGC. While Scotsman Auction Co. is typically conservative in our descriptions of items not certified by one of these companies, we cannot guarantee our grading estimation will match their grade. We highly recommend that collectors seeking items certified by a third-party grading service only bid on items that have already been certified. No lot can be returned because of a variance in judgment with regards to grade.

1794 Lettered Edge (S-57) ANACS VF-20 details/corroded, and a 1798...
The 1794 S-57 is incorrectly listed as "1795 Lettered Edge" on the ANACS insert, though the details grade is easily commensurate for the definition seen on the obverse. This is actually a great coin...
